Requirements
- •Experience building and maintaining backend services in production, ideally in API or integration-heavy systems
- •Strong skills in designing for reliability, scalability, and performance
- •Ability to own work from initial scoping to production rollout, including iterating based on customer or usage insights
- •Comfortable navigating ambiguity and bringing clarity and structure to help team progress
- •Clear, thoughtful communication across engineering, product, and customer-facing teams
- •Product mindset caring about solving the right problem and making life easier for customers and teammates
What You'll Do
- •Build and maintain integrations with OEM cloud platforms across batteries, solar, smart meters, and HVAC
- •Design and evolve home energy APIs, unifying telemetry and controls across HEM system, batteries, and curtailment into a product surface customers can build optimizations on
- •Improve observability and vendor performance across integrations, participate in team's triage rotation
- •Work with partnership and commercial teams on API feasibility for new OEM integrations
- •Build strong relationships with customers and collaborate with PM and commercial partners to shape product
- •Debug and ship production features in Node/TypeScript on AWS-based stack
- •Balance speed, quality, and customer impact with a product-engineer mindset
Nice to Have
- •Experience with TypeScript/Node, AWS services, PostgreSQL, TimescaleDB, or similar production tooling
- •Familiarity with home energy assets (batteries, solar/inverters, HVAC, smart meters), energy markets, or IoT/device ecosystems
- •Prior exposure to API-first products or integration platforms
- •On-call or incident response experience
