Requirements
- •Minimum 3+ years of professional experience in dialogue editing, audiobook, podcast, or spoken-word and sound post-production
- •Historical success and confidence in vocal cleanup using iZotope RX and Avid Pro Tools
- •Familiarity with spoken-word loudness standards (e.g., Audible/ACX targets)
- •In-depth knowledge of Spectograms
- •Studio level listening/monitoring environment
- •Ability to differentiate between performance issues and technical issues
- •Identification of signal flow issues with Voice Talents
- •Ability to work independently and deliver consistent, broadcast or release-ready dialogue
- •Strong time management and attention to detail
- •Excellent collaboration skills
- •Excellent critical listening skills with the ability to identify room tone inconsistencies, mic changes and phase issues, plosives, sibilance, mouth noise, clipped or distorted dialogue, formant damage, intelligibility loss, noise masking issues, over-processing artifacts
What You'll Do
- •Prepare, clean, and optimize spoken-word audio for post-production delivery
- •Diagnose, flag, and edit audio to required specifications
- •Communicate flags, discoveries, and audio statistics
- •Engage with technical teams on editing scenarios and audio engineering questions
- •Suggest improvements to prompt engineering and evaluation metrics
- •Take direction from supervisors and management
- •Communicate technical limitations clearly
- •Make defensible processing choices
Nice to Have
- •Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Audio Engineering, Music Production, Acoustics, or a closely related field
