Requirements
- •Hands-on experience conducting or interpreting Pavement Condition Index (PCI) surveys
- •Familiarity with PCI surveys and pavement distress definitions and rating criteria
- •Attention to visual detail
- •Ability to consistently apply pavement distress definitions and rating criteria
- •Clear written communication skills
- •Ability to explain inspection reasoning and classification decisions in a structured way
- •Access to a secure computer and high-speed internet
What You'll Do
- •Review roadway images, inspection records, and AI-generated outputs to determine accuracy and consistency with PCI methodology
- •Annotate or validate pavement features and distress patterns such as cracking, rutting, spalling, patching, weathering
- •Analyze roadway imagery or survey excerpts
- •Validate AI-generated classifications of pavement distress
- •Provide written feedback explaining model misidentifications or misinterpretations
- •Clarify distinctions between similar distress categories and evaluation of sampling units
- •Explain how real-world field conditions influence PCI scoring and reporting

- •Experience working with inspection imagery, condition reports, or roadway maintenance planning
