Requirements
- •Strong React Native experience, including shipping meaningful production applications and making sound architectural and implementation decisions in a modern mobile codebase
- •A product-building mindset and strong product judgment starting with the client problem and turning loosely defined problems into measurable product outcomes
- •End-to-end feature ownership with ability to use metrics, experimentation, client behavior, and feedback to assess and improve what you ship
- •Experience building responsive, data-rich applications using APIs and dynamic or real-time data
- •Close collaboration with Product and Design in written and verbal English
- •Versatility and thoughtful AI use comfortable wearing multiple hats and using tools such as Cursor, Copilot, or Claude while retaining responsibility for engineering judgment and quality
- •Proven experience building and shipping consumer mobile apps for Asian markets with understanding of UX and design conventions, technical limitations, and launch challenges including firewall and connectivity restrictions
What You'll Do
- •Build and own high-quality React Native features end to end, from ambiguous client problems and solution design through implementation, launch, measurement, and iteration
- •Partner closely with Product and Design to shape thoughtful, responsive, and trustworthy financial experiences, including product discovery, trading, and simplified client journeys
- •Work with APIs and dynamic or real-time data, making strong decisions on state management, rendering, performance, architecture, and reliability
- •Raise the product-engineering bar through technical discussions, code reviews, collaboration, strong product ownership, and a willingness to move between product and technical challenges
- •Help build Kraken’s new app for Asian markets acting as the team’s subject-matter guide on regional UX and design expectations, practical approaches to firewall and connectivity restrictions, and appropriate vendors and tooling such as telemetry solutions
Nice to Have
- •Experience in fintech, trading, crypto, payments, or another financial technology environment with understanding of trading, investing, or financial products
- •Experience with real-time or streaming data and improving mobile application performance, responsiveness, and reliability across a range of devices
- •Experience across both mobile and web or in a startup or small-to-medium-sized technology company where engineers work closely with Product and Design
- •Native mobile experience in Swift or Kotlin including sound judgment about when to work below the React Native layer
- •Chinese language proficiency such as Mandarin or another Asian language
