Requirements
- •Around eight years building and running production systems with domain technical ownership
- •Deep expertise in Rust and versatility with TypeScript and React
- •Experience setting architecture that prevents failures
- •Experience improving team speed through patterns, tooling, or mentoring
- •Experience building systems where errors have real consequences (compliance, payments, security)
- •Strong knowledge of distributed systems, service contracts, secure design, and integrating untrusted third-party APIs with timeouts, retries, idempotency, circuit breakers, and backup paths
- •Comfortable or able to quickly learn gRPC, Temporal, Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform, MySQL/MariaDB, Redis, and GitLab CI
What You'll Do
- •Own the technical direction for verification services architecture and patterns
- •Set the shape of verification services and their contracts across KYC/KYB flow
- •Decide abstraction of KYC and KYB vendors to prevent outages
- •Design fail-closed behavior and audit trails for regulatory compliance
- •Identify and remove recurring failure classes
- •Write and drive architecture decisions (ADRs)
- •Mentor and raise the bar for senior engineers through design reviews, code, and feedback
- •Measure success by verification speed, accuracy, system uptime, and team strength
Nice to Have
- •Direct experience with KYC, KYB, or fraud work including integrating providers like Trulioo, Persona, or ComplyAdvantage
- •Comfort building with AI in the loop
- •Experience in crypto, fintech, or regulated industries
