Requirements
- •Advanced skills in After Effects, Illustrator, and Photoshop
- •Strong portfolio demonstrating technical excellence, creative point of view, and variety of styles including motion graphics, illustration-led animation, character work
- •Experience illustrating, designing, and animating motion graphics
- •Ability to originate ideas and take work from concept to delivery including scripting and animating
- •Highly creative artist with strong personal standards for quality
- •Strong opinion about animated films (The Incredibles or Coco)
What You'll Do
- •Defining how PostHog moves by shaping motion and animation language
- •Illustrating and animating the PostHog mascot hedgehog
- •Being the go-to person for motion in video including documentaries, product launches, tutorials, changelogs, social shorts
- •Making the product look good in motion by recreating and animating UI in 3D space and animating icons inside the app
- •Building a toolkit of animated logos, brand elements, lower thirds, transitions, and motion templates
- •Working beyond video on motion for ads, campaigns, GIFs, animated icons, and pure illustration work
Nice to Have
- •Created content for developer communities or technical audiences
- •Basic video editing skills to rough out animation placement
- •Experience translating product UI/UX into animated assets
