Requirements
- •5+ years of software engineering experience including team leadership or owning major features while remaining hands-on
- •Strong skills in Kotlin, Kotlin Coroutines, Kotlin Flow, Dagger 2, MVVM, Clean Architecture, Background Services, Music Player Service, Android animations, Jetpack Navigation, and JUnit tests
- •Experience shipping and maintaining background audio or long-running background work
- •Understanding of testing importance and limitations
- •Experience introducing lasting process or technical changes to a team
- •Comfort with managing team work process changes and associated friction
- •Ability to assess which changes require heavy review
- •Track record of building widely used features
- •Ability to describe team workflows including AI agent usage
- •Product design intuition, user empathy, and drive to improve Android UI/UX beyond specifications
- •Self-driven to improve app and codebase beyond specs
- •Excellent communication skills
What You'll Do
- •Own major features end to end, working closely with design team from decision through to release
- •Own, maintain, and improve reliability metrics for key features
- •Review pull requests and provide constructive feedback
- •Unblock team members stuck on problems
- •Consolidate and standardize solutions when multiple versions exist
- •Initiate and lead team process changes
- •Reduce manual intervention in release processes
- •Implement changes to prevent recurring problems
- •Shift verification left to automate checks before QA
- •Run planning sessions to focus team on undecided work
- •Determine review requirements and sign-off responsibilities
- •Participate in cross-functional discussions with Product, Design, and Engineering
- •Handle critical issues and own feature releases
- •Ensure junior team members have learning opportunities

- •Experience building, maintaining, or contributing to open source Android projects
